Cookie Policy
About Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, work in a comparable way. In the UK, their use is governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), read together with the UK GDPR. PECR generally requires consent unless a specific exception applies. Babiha chooses to request your consent before enabling optional browser analytics and monitoring.
Babiha uses very few of these, and we do not use them to track you across other websites.
1. Strictly Necessary Cookies
These are essential for the platform to work — principally to keep you securely signed in. They do not require consent because the service you have asked for cannot be provided without them.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Keeps you securely signed in (authentication session) | Up to 400 days; refreshed during use and removed on sign-out. Session validity is controlled separately. |
2. Functional Storage (Not Cookies)
The preferences below use your browser's local storage rather than cookies. They stay on your device until cleared. Signed-in features may also store interface preferences or temporary working data needed for the feature you request.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| babiha-cookie-consent | Remembers your cookie choices | Until cleared |
| theme | Remembers the signed-in app appearance preference. Public and sign-in pages always use light mode. | Until cleared |
| sidebar-storage | Remembers your signed-in sidebar layout | Until cleared |
| babiha-schedule-store | Stores supported scheduling interface state for signed-in use | Until cleared or removed when the account context changes |
3. Analytics and Error Monitoring
To understand how the site is used we use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, and to detect and diagnose faults we use Sentry error and performance monitoring. How your choice applies depends on where the processing happens:
- In your browser (consent required): analytics, performance tracing and session replay are switched off by default and only load after you grant analytics consent. Before consent, optional monitoring is not initialised and analytics events or replays are not collected for these purposes. These tools do not rely on cookies to track you across sites.
- On our servers (legitimate interest): to keep the service reliable and secure, our server-side error monitoring records technical diagnostics when a fault occurs on our own infrastructure. This runs on our servers, not in your browser — it places nothing on your device and is not controlled by the cookie banner — and redaction controls reduce personal data in diagnostic reports. You can object to this processing as described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Marketing
Babiha does not currently use marketing or advertising cookies. The cookie banner includes a marketing category so that, if this ever changes, we will explain the purpose and providers and ask for fresh consent before introducing that use.
5. Managing Your Choices
When you first visit, a banner lets you accept optional cookies, reject them, or customise your choices — declining is available alongside accepting, and optional items default to off. You can change your choices at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer. You can also control cookies through your browser settings, though blocking the strictly necessary cookie will prevent you from signing in.
6. More Information
For how we handle personal data more broadly, see our Privacy Policy. Questions about cookies can be sent to privacy@babiha.care or our Data Protection Lead at dpo@babiha.care.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date.
